WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM MST
THIS AFTERNOON.

* LOCATION...THE SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO
  CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 4 INCHES.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS THROUGH THE DAY DUE TO ICY
  SNOW COVERED ROADS.

* LOCATION...THE EASTERN SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS BELOW 10000 FEET...THE
  LA GARITA MOUNTAINS...SAGUACHE COUNTY BELOW 10000 FEET....LAKE
  COUNTY AND ELEVATIONS ABOVE 9000 FEET IN WESTERN CHAFFEE COUNTY.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ACROSS
  NEVADA WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES TO THE
  REGION THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...TOTAL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO FEET WITH
  LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.

* WIND...SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST 15 TO 30 MPH.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS TODAY DUE TO ICY SNOW
  COVERED ROADS. VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN A
  MILE AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES.
  AVALANCHE DANGER WILL INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE HIGH
  COUNTRY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

STRONG WINDS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY ARE EXPECTED DUE TO HEAVY
SNOWFALL AND BLOWING SNOW.

AVOID TRAVEL IN THE WARNING AREA. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL
IN THE WARNING AREA DURING THE TIME OF THE WARNING...LISTEN TO
THE LATEST WEATHER FORECAST AND CONSIDER TRAVELING AT ANOTHER
TIME OR BY ANOTHER ROUTE. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL IN THE WARNING AREA
DURING THE TIME OF THE WARNING...TAKE ALONG A WINTER SURVIVAL

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION...AROUND THREE FEET WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
  AMOUNTS.

* WIND...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH AT TIMES
  ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS RESULTING IN SOME BLOWING AND
  DRIFTING SNOW.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL WILL REMAIN DIFFICULT ACROSS THE REGION
  THROUGH THIS EVENING...WITH POSSIBLE ROAD CLOSURES AT TIMES.
  AVALANCHE DANGER WILL INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE HIGH
  COUNTRY.
