THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PUEBLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO MIDNIGHT MDT FRIDAY
NIGHT. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...LAKE COUNTY...THE WESTERN MOSQUITO MOUNTAIN
  RANGE...EASTERN SWATCH MOUNTAIN RANGE AND THE SANGRE DE CRISTO
  MOUNTAINS ABOVE 11000 FEET...THE WET MOUNTAINS ABOVE 10000
  FEET...WESTERN CHAFFEE COUNTY BETWEEN 9000 AND 11000 FEET...AND
  TELLER COUNTY AND PIKES PEAK ABOVE 7500 FEET.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...A VIGOROUS SPRING STORM SYSTEM MOVING ACROSS
  WESTERN ARIZONA THIS MORNING WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE INTO THE FOUR
  CORNERS REGION LATER TONIGHT BEFORE MOVING ACROSS THE STATE
  THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING HEAVY
  SPRING SNOW OVER THE MOUNTAIN AREAS THIS AFTERNOON WHICH WILL
  CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY ON FRIDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...1 TO LOCALLY 2 FEET OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED
  ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS WITH 6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED
  FOR THE LEADVILLE AREA.

* IMPACT...SNOW AND SNOW COVERED ROADS WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS
  WEATHER AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS. ACCUMULATING SNOW ON TREE
  BRANCHES AND POWER LINES COULD LEAD TO TREE DAMAGE AND POWER
  OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
