The National Weather Service in Pueblo has cancelled the Winter
Storm Warning for the southern Sangre de Cristo mountains and
Huerfano county.

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM MDT THIS
MORNING...

* LOCATION...western Las Animas county, including Trinidad.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...snow will continue through about midmorning.

* STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 to 18 inches.

* WIND...North at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

* IMPACT...Snow and blowing snow will create hazardous travel
  conditions. In addition, heavy wet snow may produce tree and
  power line damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

AFTERNOON...

* LOCATION...Crowley, Otero, Kiowa, Bent, Prowers and Baca
  Counties.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...Snow will continue until midday.

* STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 to 16 inches.

* WIND...north at 20 to 40 mph.

* IMPACT...Snow and blowing snow will create hazardous travel
  conditions. In addition, heavy wet snow may produce tree and
  power line damage. A prolonged period of below freezing
  temperatures is likely, which may cause damage to cold
  sensitive plants and outdoor irrigation systems.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring.  Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in

MORNING...

* LOCATION...eastern Las Animas county including Kim.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...moderate snow will continue through
  midmorning and will then taper off.

* STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 to 14 inches with locally
  higher snow amounts possible near the New Mexico border.

* WIND...North 15 to 30 mph with gusts around 40 mph.

* IMPACT...Snow and blowing snow will create hazardous travel
  conditions. In addition, heavy wet snow may produce tree and
  power line damage. A prolonged period of below freezing
  temperatures is likely, which may cause damage to cold
  sensitive plants and outdoor irrigation systems.
