...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 PM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN GRANVILLE AND NORTHERN VANCE COUNTIES...

AT 1006 AM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN
CONTINUING DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING IN
THE ADVISORY AREA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
BETWEEN TWO AND THREE INCHES OF RAIN LIKELY HAD FALLEN BETWEEN 9 AM
AND 10 AM IN A SMALL AREA OF NORTHWEST VANCE COUNTY...WEST OF KERR
LAKE. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAD DIMINISHED SOME BETWEEN 945 AM
AND 10 AM...AND WERE MOVING MORE STEADILY TO THE EAST AROUND 20 MPH.
BETWEEN 10 AM AND 1030 AM...AT LEAST AN INCH OF RAIN IS LIKELY
AROUND KERR LAKE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS. ADDITIONALLY... COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS
ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE
SUBJECT TO FLOODING. IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE CAN BE LOW WATER
CROSSINGS THAT POND QUICKLY IN HEAVY RAIN. DRIVE WITH CAUTION...
AND AVOID ANY AREA WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
