RAIN WILL DIMINISH TODAY AND THEN...WITH A STRONG UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCE...THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE OF RAIN AGAIN LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY. AMOUNTS SHOULD BE MUCH LIGHTER...THOUGH...AROUND A TENTH-INCH. MAINSTEM RIVERS AND STREAMS WILL SHOW NOTICEABLE RISES. THE NEUSE RIVER AT SMITHFIELD MAY JUST EXCEED ITS MINOR FLOOD STAGE.
