...AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF
SOUTHEASTERN HOKE...SOUTHERN SCOTLAND AND CUMBERLAND COUNTIES UNTIL
530 PM EDT...

AT 426 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN
AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM MAXTON TO
FAYETTEVILLE...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

VERY HEAVY RAINFALL AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE
WITH THESE STORMS.  THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF STORMS OVER THE SAME AREAS
WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AND TYPICALLY FLOOD PRONE
AREAS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
FAYETTEVILLE...LAURINBURG...RAEFORD...FORT BRAGG...MAXTON...GODWIN...
ANTIOCH...HOPE MILLS...SPRING LAKE AND EASTOVER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND RESULT IN
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS. DRIVERS ARE URGED TO SLOW DOWN AND USE
EXTRA CAUTION TO AVOID HYDROPLANING.
