SALEM TO NEAR THE PTI AIRPORT...

AT 550 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR THUNDERSTORMS WITH
HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM CLEMMONS TO DOWNTOWN WINSTON-SALEM TO 7
MILES WEST OF KERNERSVILLE... MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH. THE HEAVIEST
RAIN WAS ALIGNED ALONG INTERSTATE 40 BUSINESS FROM WINSTON TO
KERNERSVILLE.

RAINFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY
TO LESS THAN 50 YARDS. WIND GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH
THIS STORM.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...WINSTON-SALEM...
POINT...KERNERSVILLE...CLEMMONS... BERMUDA
RUN...LEWISVILLE...AND WALKERTOWN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND RESULT IN
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS. DRIVERS ARE URGED TO SLOW DOWN AND USE
EXTRA CAUTION TO AVOID HYDROPLANING.
