AT 444 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A A
THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM STEM TO 3 MILES
SOUTH OF OXFORD...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH. OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING
WILL POSE A HAZARD WITH THIS STORM. WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH AND BRIEF
HEAVY RAIN WILL OCCUR ACROSS CENTRAL GRANVILLE AND WESTERN VANCE
COUNTIES THROUGH 530 PM.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
HENDERSON...OXFORD...KITTRELL...STEM AND DABNEY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE SHELTER INDOORS FOR THE BEST PROTECTION FROM LIGHTNING. IT ONLY
TAKES ONE STRIKE TO BE A HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY.

LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND RESULT IN
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS. DRIVERS ARE URGED TO SLOW DOWN AND USE
EXTRA CAUTION TO AVOID HYDROPLANING.
