GUILFORD...NORTHERN DAVIDSON AND FORSYTH COUNTIES UNTIL 400 PM EDT...

AT 257 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING LINE OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS STRETCHING FROM CLEMMONS SOUTHWEST OF WINSTON-
SALEM TO NORTH OF GREENSBORO...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

HEAVY DOWNPOURS COULD PRODUCE MINOR FLOODING...ESPECIALLY ON ROADS
AND IN LOW LYING AREAS. IN ADDITION, WIND GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH AND
SMALL HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
GREENSBORO...WINSTON-SALEM...HIGH POINT...LEXINGTON...KERNERSVILLE...
CLEMMONS...BERMUDA RUN...LEWISVILLE...SUMMERFIELD AND STOKESDALE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND RESULT IN
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS...STANDING WATER IN LOW LYING
AREAS...AND MINOR FLOODING OF CREEKS...STREAMS...AND AREAS OF POOR
DRAINAGE. DRIVERS HEADED HOME THIS AFTERNOON ARE URGED TO SLOW DOWN
AND USE EXTRA CAUTION TO AVOID HYDROPLANING...ESPECIALLY IN URBAN
AREAS WHERE PROLONGED HEAVY RAIN CAN QUICKLY LEAD TO FLOODING.
