...SNOW AND SLEET CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN ACROSS THE SANDHILLS
AND SOUTHERN COASTAL PLAIN...

A LIGHT TO MODERATE BAND OF SNOW AND SLEET EXTENDING FROM
SCOTLAND COUNTY EAST ACROSS HOKE..CUMBERLAND AND SAMPSON COUNTIES
WILL GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN THIS AFTERNOON. ONCE
THIS BAND MOVES THROUGH...PRECIPITATION RATES WILL DECREASE THROUGH
EARLY EVENING. A LIGHT GLAZE OF ICE WILL LIKELY DEVELOP ON TOP OF
THE ONE TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET THAT FELL EARLIER THIS
MORNING.

LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORT THAT MANY SECONDARY ROADS ARE STILL
SNOW COVERED. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION AS TRAVEL CONDITIONS
REMAIN HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY ON ELEVATED SURFACES SUCH AS
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
