...HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN MOORE... SOUTHEASTERN
DAVIDSON...ANSON...CENTRAL RICHMOND...MONTGOMERY...RANDOLPH...
EASTERN STANLY AND GUILFORD COUNTIES UNTIL 245 PM EST...

At 117 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a series of heavy rain
showers moving northward along a line extending from Penhook to 6
miles north of Chesterfield.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Heavy rain and minor flooding will also be possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Greensboro, High Point, Asheboro, Albemarle, Rockingham, Wadesboro,
Randleman, Troy, Badin Lake and North Carolina Zoo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning, especially in urban areas where prolonged heavy rain
can quickly lead to flooding.
