...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN HOKE
COUNTY UNTIL 1245 AM EDT...

AT 1215 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER RAEFORD...MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH. A
WEATHER OBSERVATION SITE AT MACKALL ARMY AIRFIELD REPORTED A PEAK
WIND GUST OF 48 MPH WITH THIS STORM AT 1143 PM EDT.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
RAEFORD...ANTIOCH...ROCKFISH...SILVER CITY AND BOWMORE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY BUILDING OR VEHICLE. WIND GUSTS UP TO 50
MPH ARE CAPABLE OF KNOCKING DOWN OLD OR WEAKENED TREES AND BLOWING
AROUND TRASH CANS...POTTED PLANTS...LAWN FURNITURE AND OTHER LIGHT
OUTDOOR OBJECTS.

LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND RESULT IN
STANDING WATER ON AREA ROADWAYS. DRIVERS ARE URGED TO SLOW DOWN AND
USE EXTRA CAUTION TO AVOID HYDROPLANING.
