Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
310 PM EST Tue Feb 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Increasing cloudiness and chances for showers will overspread the
forecast area tonight and especially after midnight, lasting into
Wednesday. A warm front will lift northward on Thursday with
spotty chances for rainfall, mainly across northern and western
sections. Given overcast skies, relatively high relative
humidities and several opportunities for light rain, it will make
for unfavorable fire weather conditions through the rest of the
week, despite relatively light surface and transport winds.

A strong cold front will move across the region later Saturday,
which will allow for temperatures to fall to more seasonal levels.
Though relative humidities look to fall into the 30 to 40 percent
range, it will be accompanied by breezy to gusty northwest winds
which will lead to a potential for fire weather concerns Sunday.
