DRY WEATHER SPILLED OVER FROM MAY INTO JUNE...WITH MUCH BELOW NORMAL
RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR THE MONTH. JUNE ALSO STARTED OFF THE WAY THE
MONTH OF MAY ENDED...WITH NORMAL OR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR
THE FIRST SIX DAYS.  THE REST OF THE MONTH SAW STRETCHES OF
TEMPERATURES THAT WERE BELOW AND ABOVE NORMAL FOR ABOUT FOUR TO SIX
DAYS AT A TIME. OVERALL THE MONTH FINISHED WITH BELOW NORMAL
RAINFALL...AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

THE FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH ONLY RECEIVED 0.75 INCHES OF RAIN FOR
THE FIRST 15 DAYS.  THIS AMOUNT IS A LITTLE UNDER HALF OF THE NORMAL
AMOUNT FOR THIS PERIOD ALONE.  THE SECOND HALF OF THE MONTH DID NOT
SEE MUCH RELIEF WITH ONLY ANOTHER 0.16 INCHES OF RAIN
FALLING...WHICH IS 1.57 INCHES BELOW NORMAL FOR THE LAST 15 DAYS OF
THE MONTH.  FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE THE ROCHESTER AIRPORT RECEIVED
0.91 INCHES OF RAINFALL...2.43 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 3.34
INCHES.

JUNE FINISHED ABOVE NORMAL FOR TEMPERATURE WITH AN AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE OF 67.5F WHICH IS 1.3F ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 66.2F.
ROCHESTER REACHED OR EXCEEDED 80F ON 16 DAYS OF THE MONTH...AND
REACHED OR EXCEEDED 90F ON FOUR DAYS FOR THE MONTH.  THE WARMEST
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH WAS ON JUNE 26TH WHEN THE
TEMPERATURE REACHED 93F. THE COOLEST LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH
WAS ON JUNE 9TH...10TH AND 14TH WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO 44F
EACH DAY.

THE REGION WAS INFLUENCED BY HIGH PRESSURE FOR MOST OF THE MONTH OF
JUNE.  QUICK MOVING AREAS OF LOW PRESSURE AND ASSOCIATED WARM AND
COLD FRONTS BROUGHT SOME NEEDED RAIN THOUGH MOST OF IT WAS BRIEF.
HEAVY RAIN FELL ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE AREA ON JUNE 2ND...WITH SOME
FLOODING OCCURRING TO THE EAST OF ROCHESTER IN WAYNE COUNTY.  THE
ROCHESTER AIRPORT RECEIVED 0.49 INCHES OF RAIN ON THE 2ND...WHICH IS
THE GREATEST RAINFALL FOR THIS MONTH OF JUNE IN ONE DAY. A WARM
FRONT AND COLD FRONT MOVED THROUGH ON JUNE 5TH AND 7TH RESPECTIVELY.
RAINFALL ON JUNE 5TH ACCUMULATED TO 0.13 INCHES...AND 0.12 INCHES OF
RAIN FELL ON JUNE 7TH. AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPED OVER THE NORTHERN GREAT LAKES REGION ON THE EVENING OF
JUNE 10TH AND TRAVELED ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES TOWARDS WESTERN AND
CENTRAL NEW YORK BY THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF JUNE 11TH.  MOST OF
THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MISSED THE ROCHESTER AIRPORT WHICH
REPORTED A HUNDREDTH OF AN INCH OF RAIN FOR THE DAY ON JUNE
11TH...WHILE AREAS EAST OF THE ROCHESTER AREA RECEIVED HEAVIER RAIN.
SEVERE WEATHER IMPACTED MOST OF THE AREA DURING THE LATE EVENING ON
JUNE 20TH AND EARLY MORNING OF JUNE 21ST.  WIND DAMAGE WAS THE
PRIMARY SEVERE WEATHER REPORT...WITH A FEW HAIL REPORTS AS WELL IN
THE ROCHESTER AREA.  THE ROCHESTER AIRPORT RECEIVED FIVE HUNDREDTHS
OF AN INCH OF RAINFALL FOR THE DAY ON JUNE 20TH. A TROUGH OF LOW
PRESSURE AND A COLD FRONT MOVED THROUGH ON JUNE 27TH...RESULTING IN
MORNING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS WESTERN NEW YORK...WITH
SEVEN HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF RAINFALL AT THE ROCHESTER AIRPORT.

LAKE ONTARIO STARTED OUT THE MONTH AT 63 DEGREES...AND DROPPED TO
ITS COOLEST TEMPERATURE OF 48 DEGREES ON JUNE 5TH.  THE LAKE
TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATED THROUGHOUT THE MONTH AS UPWELLING INCREASED
OR DECREASED. THE LAKE REMAINED AROUND THE UPPER 50`S TO LOWER 60`S
FOR MOST OF THE MONTH WITH OCCASIONAL DIPS DOWN TO THE UPPER 40`S
AND OCCASIONAL WARM UPS TO THE MID 60`S. THE LAKE REACHED ITS
WARMEST TEMPERATURE OF 71 DEGREES ON JUNE 30TH.

OVERALL...A WARM AND DRY MONTH OF JUNE.
