...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SAINT CROIX COUNTY THROUGH 1130
AM AST...

At 1029 AM AST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing a waterspout that could move over the coastal
area near Grove Place, or 38 miles south of St Croix, moving east at
20 mph.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
         and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Frederiksted South, Grove Place, Frederiksted, and Christiansted.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in San Juan.
