THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT...

...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING FOR THE CENTRAL COAST THIS WEEKEND NEAR
TIMES OF HIGH TIDE...

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EXPOSED WEST FACING SHORES IN VENTURA
AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES THROUGH SUNDAY...

A LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL WILL IMPACT THE CENTRAL COAST THROUGH
SUNDAY NIGHT. THE LARGEST SURF WILL OCCUR TODAY WITH 10 TO 15 FOOT
BREAKERS. SURF THIS LARGE WILL BE CAPABLE OF CAUSING SIGNIFICANT
BEACH EROSION AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO STRUCTURES SUCH AS PIERS. IN
ADDITION...THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR MINOR COASTAL FLOODING
NEAR TIMES OF HIGH TIDE.

* SURF AND TIMING...THE PEAK OF THE EVENT WILL OCCUR TODAY WITH 10
  TO 15 FOOT BREAKERS. SURF WILL GRADUALLY SUBSIDE TONIGHT...BUT
  IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN ABOVE 10 FEET THROUGH LATE SUNDAY
  EVENING.

* COASTAL FLOODING...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED THIS
  WEEKEND...ESPECIALLY A FEW HOURS ON EITHER SIDE OF HIGH TIDE. A
  HIGH TIDE OF 6.4 FEET WILL OCCUR AT PORT SAN LUIS AT 831 AM ON
  SUNDAY.

* LOCATION...THE HIGHEST SURF WILL BE ON EXPOSED WEST TO NORTHWEST
  FACING BEACHES...HOWEVER LARGE SURF IS EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE
  CENTRAL COAST AREA. COASTAL FLOODING WILL BE MOST LIKELY ON LOW-
  LYING AREAS DURING THE MORNING HIGH TIDES. STRONG RIP CURRENTS
  AND LONG SHORE CURRENTS WILL AFFECT ALL CENTRAL COAST BEACHES.

* IMPACTS...THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT BEACH
  EROSION...DAMAGE TO SURF ZONE STRUCTURES SUCH AS PIERS...MINOR
  COASTAL FLOODING WITH INUNDATION OF LOW LYING AREAS NEAR THE
  BEACH...FREQUENT AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND LONG-SHORE
  CURRENTS...AND SNEAKER WAVES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT THE VERY LARGE SURF AND
HIGH TIDES WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS
