...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY
EVENING...

* WAVES AND SURF...LOWERING TO 2 TO 5 FT TONIGHT WITH THE HIGHEST
  SETS NORTH OF SOLANA BEACH. SURF INCREASING AGAIN TO 3 TO 6 FT
  FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

* TIMING...SURF DECREASING TONIGHT...BUT A FRESH NORTHWEST SWELL
  WILL BRING A SECOND SURGE OF ELEVATED SURF FRIDAY THROUGH
  SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...INCREASED RISK OF OCEAN DROWNING FROM ELEVATED SURF
  AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS. RIP CURRENTS CAN PULL SWIMMERS AND
  SURFERS OUT TO SEA. LARGE BREAKING WAVES CAN WASH PEOPLE OFF
  JETTIES AND ROCKS...AND CAPSIZE SMALL BOATS NEAR SHORE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT, RELAX AND
FLOAT. DON`T SWIM AGAINST THE CURRENT. IF ABLE, SWIM IN A
DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE
SHORE AND CALL OR WAVE FOR HELP.
