...A WARM AND DRY JUNE FOR THE KING SALMON AREA...

JUNE 2015 WAS A VERY WARM AND DRY MONTH FOR THE KING SALMON AREA. NO
THUNDERSTORMS WERE RECORDED ON STATION FOR THE MONTH BUT THERE WERE A FEW DAYS
OF LIGHTNING THAT WERE OBSERVED OUTSIDE OF 10 MILES FROM THE STATION.  THERE
WERE MANY CLOUD TO GROUND STRIKES THAT EVENTUALLY CAUSED A FIRE APPROXIMATELY
12 MILES TO THE NORTHEAST OF THE STATION.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 56.4, MAKING IT THE SECOND WARMEST JUNE ON RECORD.
THE HIGHEST DAILY TEMPERATURE WAS SET ON THE 15TH AND 16TH AT 86 DEGREES.
THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 40 DEGREES ON THE 8TH.

TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH WAS 0.84 INCHES.  THE WETTEST DAY OF THE
MONTH WAS ON THE 4TH AT 0.33 INCHES, ALMOST HALF OF THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION
FOR THE MONTH. ELEVEN DAYS HAD MORE THAN A TRACE OF PRECIPITATION, SIX DAYS
WITH A TRACE OF PRECIPITATION, AND THIRTEEN DAYS OF NO PRECIPITATION.
