THE TREND OF BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES CONTINUED WELL INTO AUGUST.
IN MUCH OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH...TEMPERATURES ONLY REACHED
94 DEGREES. HOWEVER...REVERSING THE TREND OF MUCH OF THE
SUMMER...THE LAST HALF OF AUGUST LARGELY SAW TEMPERATURES AT OR
ABOVE AVERAGE. FOR THE SECOND AUGUST IN A ROW...HOWEVER...THERE WERE
NO TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES...AND NO LOW TEMPERATURES AT
OR ABOVE 80 DEGREES.

THIS WAS ALSO THE 11TH CONSECUTIVE MONTH WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
AT OR BELOW NORMAL.

PRECIPITATION WAS MOST FREQUENT FROM THE 7TH THROUGH THE 11TH. THERE
WERE ONLY TWO DAYS WITH MEASURABLE RAINFALL FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE
MONTH. IT WAS THE DRIEST AUGUST IN FOUR YEARS.

.MONTHLY TEMPERATURES...

EVEN THOUGH AUGUST TEMPERATURES WERE THE WARMEST IN A YEAR OR TWO...
READINGS WERE STILL BELOW THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE.

THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS 2013.

THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST SINCE 2011.

THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS WARMEST SINCE 2012.
