PRECIPITATION...11TH SNOWIEST DECEMBER...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR DECEMBER WAS 23.5 DEGREES, WHICH WAS 1.9
DEGREE ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 29.3 DEGREES
...WHILE THE AVERAGE LOW WAS 17.8 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE
IN DECEMBER WAS 44 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 20TH AND 26TH,
WHILE THE LOWEST READING FOR THE MONTH WAS 16 DEGREES BELOW ZERO
WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 18TH.

A TOTAL OF 2.19 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL DURING THE
MONTH...WHICH WAS 0.83 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THE GREATEST
PRECIPITATION TOTAL WAS 0.67 WHICH FELL FROM THE 25TH TO 26TH.

THERE WAS 20.8 INCHES OF SNOW RECORDED FOR THE MONTH...WHICH WAS 9.5
INCHES ABOVE NORMAL AND THE 11TH SNOWIEST DECEMBER ON RECORD.  THE
GREATEST 24 HOUR SNOWFALL OF 9.8 INCHES FELL FROM THE 10TH TO 11TH.

THE MONTH WAS MARKED BY BIG SWINGS IN TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION.
THE FIRST 6 DAYS STARTED OFF WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES THEN
DROPPED TO BELOW NORMAL FROM THE 7TH TO THE 19TH, WITH THE COLDEST
DAY BEING THE 18TH WHEN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ONLY REACHED 1 ABOVE.
TEMPERATURES THEN WARMED UP WITH CHRISTMAS DAY SEEING 0.63 INCHES OF
RAIN, MAKING IT THE 3RD WETTEST CHRISTMAS. THE 38 DEGREE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE ON CHRISTMAS ALSO RANKED IT AS THE 6TH WARMEST ON RECORD
AND THE WARMEST SINCE 1940. THE SNOWIEST PERIOD FOR THE MONTH RAN
