...A WARM AND DRY START TO THE SUMMER FOR ST PAUL...

JUNE 2014 FOR ST PAUL WAS WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL AS A HIGH PRESSURE
CENTERED OVER THE CENTRAL ALEUTIAN ISLANDS CONTRIBUTED IN MAINLY SOUTHERLY TO
WESTERLY WINDS...DELIVERING TEMPERATURES ABOVE NORMAL.

MONTHLY TEMPERATURE AVERAGES WERE IN THE TOP TEN ON RECORD FOR THE MONTH OF
JUNE. THE HIGHEST AVERAGE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS THE 6TH WARMEST ON RECORD. ON
AVERAGE THE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS 2 DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL.  ST PAUL TIED
ONE TEMPERATURE RECORD...AND SET TWO NEW TEMPERATURE RECORDS...AS WELL AS ONE
PRECIPITATION RECORD.

6/5/2014- NEW RECORD HIGH MINIMUM OF 56 BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 54 IN 2003

6/10/2014- NEW RECORD PRECIPITATION OF 0.33 INCHES BREAKING OLD RECORD OF 0.30
INCHES SET IN 2003.

6/19/2014- NEW RECORD HIGH MAXIMUM OF 54 BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF 53 IN 1993.

6/22/2014- TIED RECORD MINIMUM TEMP OF 33 SET IN 1959.

ALTHOUGH A RECORD WAS SET FOR PRECIPITATION ON THE 10TH IT ACCOUNTED FOR A
MAJORITY OF THE MONTHLY AVERAGE.  ONLY 4 DAYS HAD PRECIPITATION GREATER THAN
0.10.
