WINTER 2015/2016 AT GRAND FORKS UNIVERSITY (NWS) WAS WARMER AND
DRIER THAN NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 17.3 DEGREES MAKING
IT 6.4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS WAS THE SEVENTH WARMEST WINTER
SEASON EVER RECORDED...WITH WINTER 1982/1983 COMING IN FIRST PLACE
WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 19.6 DEGREES. THE MEAN HIGH
TEMPERATURE OF 24.1 DEGREES FOR THE SEASON WAS 4.7 DEGREES ABOVE
AVERAGE. THE MEAN LOW TEMPERATURE OF 10.5 DEGREES...WAS 8.0 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL.

LIQUID PRECIPITATION WAS 1.77 INCHES WHICH WAS 0.18 INCHES BELOW THE
SEASONAL AVERAGE OF 1.95 INCHES. SNOWFALL WAS BELOW NORMAL WITH 23.9
INCHES...WHICH IS 4.3 INCHES BELOW THE AVERAGE OF 28.2 INCHES.
