EVEN THOUGH AVERAGE TEMPERATURES WERE WARMER THIS SPRING...READINGS
WERE STILL BELOW THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE FOR THE 3-MONTH SEASON FROM
MARCH 1ST-MAY 31ST. OVER ALL...READINGS WERE VERY SIMILAR TO LAST SPRING.
HOWEVER...HIGHS WERE WARMER THIS SPRING...WITH COLDER LOWS IN MARCH.

THE BIG STORY THIS SPRING WAS THE COLD IN EARLY MARCH...WHERE LITTLE
ROCK SAW SOME OF THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES EVER RECORDED IN THE MONTH
OF MARCH...AS WELL AS THE CLIMATOLOGICAL SPRING. ALSO...SLEET AND
SNOW FELL...AND STAYED ON THE GROUND FOR SEVERAL DAYS...PROLONGING
THE COLDER TEMPERATURES.

THERE WAS ANOTHER COLD SNAP IN MID AND LATE MARCH. WITH THE ONE IN
MID MARCH...SNOW FELL...AND LITTLE ROCK SAW ITS LATEST MEASURABLE
SNOWFALL SINCE 1987...AND LATEST SNOWFALL SINCE 2003.

TEMPERATURES GRADUALLY WARMED THROUGH APRIL...THOUGH READINGS CAME
WITHIN TWO DEGREES OF THE FREEZING MARK ON THE 15TH. DURING MAY...THE
WARMEST READINGS CAME EARLY IN THE FIRST WEEK...AND BY MID MONTH...
TEMPERATURES HAD FALLEN CLOSE TO RECORD LOWS...AND WITHIN THREE
DEGREES OF THE ALL-TIME RECORD LOW FOR MAY.

.TEMPERATURES...
AVERAGE HIGH...LOW AND SEASONAL TEMPERATURES...EVEN THOUGH BELOW THE
30-YEAR AVERAGE...WERE THE WARMEST SINCE 2012.

THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS THE 11TH COLDEST ON RECORD.

THE AVERAGE SEASONAL TEMPERATURE WAS THE 20TH COLDEST ON RECORD.

THERE WERE NINE DAYS WITH LOW TEMPERATURES AT OR BELOW FREEZING...
WHICH WAS THE MOST SINCE THE SPRING OF 2002. THERE WERE TWO DAYS
WITH HIGHS AT OR BELOW FREEZING...WHICH WAS THE MOST SINCE THE
SPRING OF 1965...AND TIED WITH THE SPRING OF 1965...1960...AND 1922
FOR THE MOST ON RECORD.

AS WAS THE CASE LAST YEAR...THERE WAS ONE DAY WITH A TEMPERATURE AT
OR ABOVE 90 DEGREES.

FOR THE 2ND SPRING IN A ROW...RAINFALL WAS ABOVE AVERAGE. IT WAS THE
WETTEST SPRING SINCE 2011. MEASURABLE RAIN FELL ON 31 DAYS...ONE
LESS THAN 2013.

.SNOWFALL...
SNOW FELL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2009...AND MEASURABLE SNOW FELL
FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2008.

IT WAS THE SNOWIEST SPRING SINCE 2008...AND THE 13TH SNOWIEST ON
RECORD.

THERE WERE FOUR DAYS WITH SNOWFALL DURING THE SPRING...WHICH WAS THE
MOST SINCE 2008. THERE WERE THREE DAYS WITH MEASURABLE SNOWFALL..WHICH
WAS THE MOST SINCE 2008.

THERE WERE FOUR DAYS WITH MEASURABLE SNOW ON THE GROUND...WHICH WAS
THE MOST SINCE 1960...AND THE MOST ON RECORD. THE AVERAGE SNOW DEPTH
FOR THE SEASON WAS 0.1 INCH...WHICH TIED 1891...1892...AND 1960 FOR
THE 2ND HIGHEST ON RECORD. THE HIGHEST WAS 0.2 INCHES IN 1876.
