IN TERMS OF AVERAGE HIGH...LOW...AND SEASONAL TEMPERATURES...THIS
WAS THE COOLEST SUMMER IN OVER 20 YEARS...AND ONE OF THE COOLEST ON
RECORD.

FOR THE SECOND SUMMER IN A ROW...THERE WERE NO TEMPERATURES AT OR
BELOW 100 DEGREES. FOR THE FIRST SUMMER SINCE 2005...THERE WERE NO
LOW TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 80.

THERE WERE 27 DAYS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES OF 90 DEGREES OR HIGHER.
THIS WAS THE FEWEST SINCE 1989...AND THE FEWEST ON RECORD DURING THE
SUMMER MONTHS.

FOR THE SECOND JUNE IN A ROW...THERE WERE NO DAYS WITH TEMPERATURES
AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES. HIGHS WERE THE COLDEST IN OVER A
DECADE...WHILE LOWS WERE THE COLDEST IN EIGHT YEARS. FOR THE FIRST
TIME SINCE 1995...THERE WERE NO TEMPERATURES WARMER THAN 92 DEGREES
DURING THE MONTH.

JULY WILL LONG BE REMEMBERED AS ONE OF THE COLDEST ON RECORD...IN
TERMS OF AVERAGE...AS WELL AS HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURES. THERE WERE
SEVERAL PERIODS DURING THE MONTH WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING INTO THE
60S...AND HIGHS ONLY IN THE 70S. FOR THE SECOND JULY IN A ROW...THERE
WERE NO TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES. FOR THE FIRST TIME
SINCE 2007...THERE WERE NO TEMPERATURES ABOVE 94 DEGREES.

THE TREND OF BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES CONTINUED WELL INTO AUGUST.
IN MUCH OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH...TEMPERATURES ONLY REACHED
92 DEGREES. HOWEVER...REVERSING THE TREND OF MUCH OF THE
SUMMER...THE LAST HALF OF AUGUST LARGELY SAW TEMPERATURES AT OR
ABOVE AVERAGE. FOR THE SECOND AUGUST IN A ROW...HOWEVER...THERE WERE
NO TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES...AND NO LOW TEMPERATURES AT
OR ABOVE 80 DEGREES.

JUNE RAINFALL WAS RATHER ABUNDANT AND FREQUENT...AND IT WAS THE
FIRST TIME IN TEN YEARS WITH JUNE RAINFALL AT OR ABOVE NORMAL.

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE WETTEST JULY IN SEVERAL YEARS...RAINFALL WAS
BELOW AVERAGE.

AUGUST WAS THE DRIEST IN FIVE YEARS.

THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS THE COOLEST SINCE 1992...AND THE 3RD COOLEST ON
RECORD.

THE AVERAGE LOW WAS THE COOLEST SINCE 2009...AND THE 9TH COOLEST ON
RECORD.

THE AVERAGE SEASONAL TEMPERATURE WAS THE COOLEST SINCE 1992...AND THE
5TH COOLEST ON RECORD.

IT WAS THE WETTEST SUMMER SINCE 2009...AND THE 7TH WETTEST ON
