.SUMMARY...

FOR THE FIRST TWO MONTHS OF WINTER...TEMPERATURES WERE CLOSE TO OR A
LITTLE ABOVE AVERAGE. HOWEVER...FEBRUARY...MORE SPECIFICALLY THE
LAST TWO WEEKS OF THE MONTH...THOSE TRENDS COMPLETELY REVERSED...AND
THE SEASON ENDED OVER TWO AND A HALF DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.

THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES WERE RECORDED IN EARLY JANUARY...WHEN THE
MERCURY HIT 8 DEGREES ON THE 8TH. THIS WAS THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE
RECORDED AT NORTH LITTLE ROCK SINCE FEBRUARY 4TH 1996...AND THE
COLDEST WINTER TEMPERATURE SINCE 1995-1996. IT WAS ALSO THE SECOND
WINTER IN A ROW WITH SINGLE DIGIT LOW TEMPERATURES RECORDED.

IN TERMS OF DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL...THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
THE ACTUAL DAILY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AND THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE DAILY
TEMPERATURE...THE COLDEST OF WINTER DAYS WERE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS
OF FEBRUARY.

FOR THE FIRST WINTER SINCE 2010-2011...PRECIPITATION WAS BELOW
AVERAGE. THE DRIEST MONTH WAS JANUARY...AND THE WETTEST MONTH WAS
FEBRUARY.

FOR THE 7TH CONSECUTIVE WINTER...MEASURABLE SNOW FELL...AND ALL OF
IT WAS IN FEBRUARY. THIS WAS ALSO THE FIRST WINTER SINCE 2011-2012
WITH BELOW AVERAGE SNOWFALL.

.SEASONAL TEMPERATURES...

THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS THE COLDEST SINCE 2009-2010...AND
THE 7TH COLDEST ON RECORD. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS THE
WARMEST SINCE 2012-2013. THE AVERAGE SEASONAL TEMPERATURE WAS THE
WARMEST SINCE 2013-2014.

AT OR BELOW FREEZING....42...FEWEST SINCE 2012-2013.
AT OR ABOVE 70 DEGREES...1...FEWEST SINCE 2009-2010.

IT WAS THE DRIEST WINTER SINCE 2010-2011...AND THE 9TH DRIEST ON
RECORD.

.SNOWFALL...

THE SNOW THAT FELL WAS THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT AS LAST WINTER.

.MISCELLANEOUS PHENOMENA...

ON JANUARY 7TH...THE PRESSURE ROSE TO 30.86 IN. / 1045.07 MB AT
NORTH LITTLE ROCK. THIS TIED THE ALL-TIME RECORD HIGH PRESSURE FOR
THE MONTH OF JANUARY. THE RECORD WAS ORIGINALLY SET JANUARY 2ND
2008.
