...HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE TONIGHT...COULD LEAD TO MORE FLOODING...

AN UNSEASONABLY WARM AND MOIST AIR MASS REMAINS ACROSS THE
REGION...MORE SUMMER-LIKE RATHER THAN EARLY FALL. A COLD FRONT
WILL SWEEP WEST TO EAST ACROSS THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY
LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY...TAPPING INTO THIS AIR TO PRODUCE
AREAS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. HEAVY RAIN IS LIKELY.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS UP TO AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE AT THIS TIME...BUT
LOCALLY HIGHER TOTALS COULD OCCUR. IN ADDITION...IT COULD COME
VERY QUICKLY. WITH GROUNDS SATURATED AND UNABLE TO HOLD ANYMORE
WATER...ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RUNOFF INTO RIVER
SYSTEMS...LEADING TO MORE RISES. FLASH FLOODING WOULD ALSO BE
POSSIBLE...OR AGGRAVATE THE FLOODING PROBLEMS IN THE ALREADY HARD
HIT AREAS FROM THE PAST FEW DAYS.

THAT SAID...ITS NOT CERTAIN WHERE THE GREATER HEAVY RAIN THREAT
WILL LIE...OR HOW MUCH WILL FALL.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MAY BE NEEDED FOR LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY.
