...Ice Jam Potential Early This Week...

With the recent bitter cold, ice developed on area rivers quickly.
Ice jams and localized river flooding will be a possibility for
many of the streams and rivers, even as temperatures warm above
freezing Tuesday and Wednesday. Minor low land flooding has been
reported along portions of the Fox River near Oswego, the Kankakee
River near Wilmington and Aroma Park, and the Rock River near
Byron and Roscoe. Other locations may also be impacted by ice, and
rapid fluctuations in water levels are possible.

Residents in low lying flood prone areas should remain alert for
possible flooding due to ice jams.
