FLOOD WATCH...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
1030 PM CST TUE MAR 3 2015

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH 6 PM WEDNESDAY FOR AREAS
ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40...

.A STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BRING 1 TO
2 INCHES OF RAIN TO THE REGION...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS NORTH
AND WEST OF NASHVILLE. SOILS OVER MUCH OF THE MID STATE REMAIN
SATURATED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF RECENT RAINS AND THE SLOW MELT
OF ICE AND SNOW FROM WINTER STORMS OVER THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS.
THIS IS ESPECIALLY SIGNIFICANT OVER NORTHERN COUNTIES...WHERE
SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS WERE GREATEST. THUS...ANY HEAVY RAINS
THAT FALL...PRIOR TO THE CHANGE OVER TO WINTRY PRECIPITATION ON
WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY EVENING...MAY LEAD TO PONDING IN ROADWAYS
AND LOCALIZED FLOODING CONCERNS.
