...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHEASTERN HAMILTON...
NORTHWESTERN HANCOCK...MADISON AND NORTHEASTERN MARION COUNTIES UNTIL
830 PM EDT...

AT 717 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT
FLASH FLOODING WAS OCCURRING ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. ALTHOUGH RAIN
HAS ENDED FOR THE TIME BEING...FLOODING WILL LIKELY CONTINUE THROUGH
THE EVENING. MORE HEAVY RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL ARRIVE OVER THE
AREA NEAR OR JUST AFTER SUNSET.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING
INCLUDE...ANDERSON...ALEXANDRIA...LAPEL AND LAWRENCE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

STATE ROUTES 13 AND 38 ARE BOTH FLOODED AND IN SOME LOCATIONS
IMPASSIBLE SOUTH OF LAPEL AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 69.
ADDITIONALLY...STREET FLOODING IS OCCURRING IN ANDERSON AND AT LEAST
ONE VEHICLE RESCUE TOOK PLACE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE CITY.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES
AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.
