...A FLOOD WARNING FROM HEAVY RAINFALL REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245
AM AKDT FRIDAY FOR THE TAIYA RIVER IN THE NORTHERN INNER CHANNELS OF
SOUTHEAST ALASKA...

AT 127 PM AKDT...RAIN HAS DIMINISHED ACROSS THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE
THIS AFTERNOON. LITTLE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED OVER THE AREA
THROUGH TONIGHT.

FOR THE TAIYA RIVER:
AT 127 PM AKDT THE STAGE WAS 17.4 FEET.
FLOOD STAGE IS 16.5 FEET.
FORECAST: FALLING BELOW 16.5 FEET LATE TONIGHT.
IMPACTS: THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE ADVISES AGAINST BOATING AND OTHER
RECREATIONAL WATER BASED ACTIVITIES AT A RIVER STAGE OF 17 FEET. TRAIL
ORIENTATION AND NAVIGATION ALONG THE CHILKOOT TRAIL BECOMES DIFFICULT
AT A RIVER STAGE OF 17 FEET.
