...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR AN ICE JAM REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM
EST FRIDAY FOR NORTHWESTERN MECOSTA COUNTY...

At 545 PM EST, emergency management reported an ice jam was
continuing to cause minor flooding in the vicinity of Old Logging
Trail Road east of the town of Paris. Water levels have continued to
drop slightly over the past 24 hours. Old Logging Trail Road has
reopened as of Thursday afternoon.

Local Emergency Management is monitoring the situation closely.
Residents along the Muskegon River from Paris upstream to the
Mecosta-Osceola County line should monitor river levels closely as
ice jams can cause rapid fluctuations of several feet.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Muskegon River east of Paris.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
