FLOOD STATEMENT

A river flood warning remains in effect for the Lavaca River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede.

Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.

Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few
days.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Lavaca River Near Edna
* from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning...or until the warning is
  canceled.
* At 0751 PM Monday the stage was 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and continue to
  rise to near 21.2 feet by tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood
  stage by tomorrow evening.
* At 21.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins with flow backing through
  preipheral channels adjacent to the river and reaches into sloughs and low
  areas.
