THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED AN

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  ASSUMPTION PARISH IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA...

* UNTIL 345 PM CDT

* AT 139 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF ASSUMPTION
PARISH.  THIS THUNDERSTORM IS PRODUCING ONE HOUR RAINFALL RATES OF
UP TO 2.5 INCHES PER HOUR.  THIS HEAVY RAINFALL COULD PRODUCE
LOCALIZED STREET FLOODING IN LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE ADVISORY
AREA.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS...
HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE
AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
