FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR ALASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
706 AM AKDT MON AUG 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT BUILDING IN OVER THE AREA...ALONG WITH INCREASING
OFFSHORE FLOW WILL GRADUALLY DRY AND WARM MUCH OF THE REGION THROUGH
TUESDAY. HOWEVER...RH VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN ABOVE CRITICAL
THRESHOLDS THROUGH TUESDAY DUE TO RESIDUAL LOW LEVEL MOISTURE
LINGERING OVER THE SOUTHWEST MAINLAND AND GOOD OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES.
HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL LARGELY STIFLE ANY CHANCE OF SHOWERS
DEVELOPING UNTIL TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING NEAR THE ALASKA RANGE
WHERE A FEW ISOLATED WET THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE. A LOW IN THE NORTH
PACIFIC WILL IMPACT THE ALASKA PENINSULA WITH RAIN AND CLOUDS TONIGHT
THROUGH TUESDAY.
