FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
430 AM CST WED NOV 26 2014

.DISCUSSION...
AFTER A CLEAR START TO THE DAY...HIGH-LEVEL CLOUDS WILL BEGIN
TO INVADE THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON AS ANOTHER DISTURBANCE SHIFTS
SOUTHEASTWARD TOWARD THE REGION. A STRONGER REINFORCING COLD
FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DISTURBANCE WILL SWEEP EASTWARD ACROSS
THE TENNESSEE VALLEY THIS EVENING...ACCOMPANIED BY A BAND OF LIGHT
RAIN. LOW STRATUS CLOUDS WILL PERSIST FOR MUCH OF THANKSGIVING DAY
IN THE WAKE OF THE COLD FRONT...WITH A BRISK NORTHWEST WIND KEEPING
TEMPS IN THE 40S. FOG WILL BE POSSIBLE REGION-WIDE ON THURSDAY
NIGHT...AS SKIES CLEAR AND WINDS DIMINISH. SMOKE DISPERSION INDICES
WILL BE IN THE GENERALLY GOOD CATEGORY TODAY...WITH A SLIGHT
IMPROVEMENT BY THANKSGIVING DAY AS MIXING HEIGHTS RISE AND TRANSPORT
FLOW INCREASES FROM THE NORTHWEST. SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL BEGIN ONCE
AGAIN BY FRIDAY NIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING...WITH CLOUDS AND LOW-LEVEL
MOISTURE RETURNING BY SUNDAY. ANOTHER COLD FRONT WILL BRING HIGHER
CHANCES FOR RAIN BEGINNING LATE MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT.
