FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
421 AM CDT MON JUL 28 2014

.DISCUSSION...
A STRONG SUMMER COLD FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH SOUTHWARD
ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS...BRINGING AN
END TO PRECIPITATION. LOW-LEVEL FLOW WILL INCREASE FROM THE
NORTHWEST THROUGH THE DAY...ALLOWING A COOLER/DRIER AIRMASS TO
SPREAD INTO THE REGION. ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH
AND SUBSIDE OVERNIGHT...THE DRY NATURE OF THE AIRMASS WILL LIMIT
THE THREAT FOR PATCHY FOG TO VALLEYS AND OTHER LOCATIONS NEAR
LARGE BODIES OF WATER. AFTERNOON RH VALUES WILL FALL TO AROUND
35 PERCENT BOTH TODAY AND TUESDAY FOR LOCATIONS WEST OF INTERSTATE
65. NORTHWESTERLY TRANSPORT WINDS AROUND 15 MPH WILL PROVIDE GOOD
SMOKE DISPERSION BOTH DAYS AS WELL.

THE COOLER AND DRIER AIRMASS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS THE AREA
THROUGH THE END OF THE WORK WEEK. HOWEVER...WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL RETURN FROM FRIDAY THROUGH THE UPCOMING
WEEKEND...AS AN APPROACHING UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCE INTERACTS WITH
INCREASING MOISTURE.
