FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
255 PM CDT TUE SEP 30 2014

.DISCUSSION...
SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDING SOUTHWEST FROM THE NEW ENGLAND
REGION...WILL CONTROL THE WEATHER ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN STATES
THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THE HIGH WILL GRADUALLY MOVE EASTWARD DURING
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...CAUSING WINDS TO BECOME SOUTHERLY AND
BRING GULF MOISTURE NORTHWARD TOWARD NORTHERN ALABAMA. IN THE
MEANWHILE...A STRONG STORM SYSTEM TRAVERSING THE GREAT PLAINS
WILL MOVE EASTWARD...AND BRING A VERY GOOD CHANCE FOR SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...WITH THE HIGHEST
RAIN CHANCES THURSDAY NIGHT.

LIGHT WINDS TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT...ALONG WITH MOSTLY
CLEAR SKIES WILL RESULT IN PATCHY LATE NIGHT FOG/MIST FORMING
ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA...WITH MAX LVORI INDICES AROUND 10 BOTH
NIGHTS. FOG DEVELOPMENT LOOKS MORE PROBABLE TONIGHT.

FAIR SMOKE DISPERSION RATES ARE FORECAST ON WEDNESDAY WITH
LIGHT SURFACE AND TRANSPORT WINDS. SOMEWHAT STRONGER WINDS
WILL BRING GENERALLY GOOD TO GOOD DISPERSION RATES ON THURSDAY.
