.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will remain in place across the southeastern US,
keeping surface winds across the TN Valley northeast to east
through the weekend. Meanwhile, several disturbances are expected
to move across the region over the next several days, providing a
focus for the development of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected across the area today, with
isolated activity expected on Friday and Saturday. Despite
temperatures warming to near 90 degrees, minimum RH values will
remain above 50 percent due to dewpoints remaining in the upper
60s to lower 70s. Outside of thunderstorm areas, dispersion
conditions will be generally good both today and Friday, as
mixing heights rise above 7000 feet and northeast transport winds
remain above 5 mph.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog, dense in some
locations, has developed this morning and will dissipate shortly
after sunrise. The development of fog is possible again on Friday
morning, especially across areas that receive rainfall this
afternoon.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
