Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
502 AM EDT Thu Mar 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...An area of surface high pressure will move east into
the Mid Atlantic through the day. Winds will veer from northeast
flow this morning to southerly flow by the afternoon. Dewpoint
recovery remains low on the ridges this morning and therefore think
recovery could be slow through the day even with southerly flow.
This will lead to minimum relative humidity values in the 20 to 30
percent range this afternoon. However, the winds are expected to
remain light between 5 to 10 mph. The continued southerly flow
behind the warm front tonight will allow for increased relative
humidity values for Friday. A more active pattern should lead to
better chances of wetting rains this weekend into early next week.
