Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
505 AM CDT Sat Oct 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Elevated fire weather conditions will prevail over the eastern
Panhandle, western Sandhills, and far southwest Nebraska today.
Thereafter over much of the Sandhills and southwest Nebraska
tomorrow. A cold front is advancing into central NEB early this
morning. Breezy northwesterly winds will prevail today with gusts
up to 30-35 MPH. Of which, this will combine with dry air with
afternoon humidity 20-25 percent in the aforementioned areas.
Otherwise, isolated to scattered light rain showers are forecast
this morning to early afternoon over portions of western NEB.

While not quite as breezy tomorrow, modest westerly winds are
expected. Drier and warmer conditions prevail in general tomorrow
across western NEB, this will promote elevated fire weather
concerns as well.
