Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Montana

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR HOT TEMPERATURES, LOW
HUMIDITY, GUSTY WINDS, AND ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS UNTIL 9 PM
MDT THIS EVENING FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 112, 113, 114, 115, 116,
117 AND 118...

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH FROM 1 PM
TO 9 PM MDT MONDAY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 112, 114, 116, AND 118...

.DISCUSSION...

Widespread critical fire weather conditions lasting into this
evening will moderate overnight, though there will be a remote
chance at an isolated dry thunderstorm or two from this evening
into the overnight. A Canadian weather front will drop south
through the plains tonight and stall over central Montana Monday.
Cooler and breezy conditions will result but with higher afternoon
humidity values, most plains locations may only see elevated fire
weather conditions. Along the Rocky Mountain Front and much of the
Helena and Lewis and Clark National Forests along and west of the
Big Belt Mountains, critical fire weather conditions are expected
to occur once again Monday with low humidity and gusty winds.
A few isolated dry thunderstorms with gusty winds may also develop
from the Little Belt Mountains south and east late Monday
afternoon into the evening. At least elevated fire weather
conditions are expected to occur through the remainder of the week
with an increased thunderstorm potential toward Wednesday and
Thursday.
