...DISCUSSION FROM RNOFWFVEF...

CONDITIONS WILL FINALLY BEGIN TO COOL EARLY THIS WEEK AS A WEATHER
SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS THE WESTERN STATES. THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING
INCREASED WINDS TO MUCH OF THE REGION, ESPECIALLY MONDAY. A FEW
AREAS WILL SEE GUSTS NEAR 35 MPH, LEADING TO CRITICAL FIRE
CONDITIONS. OUTSIDE OF A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS/STORMS TODAY, DRY
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS WEEK.

...DISCUSSION FROM LAXFWFSGX...

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL CONTINUE THE HOT DRY WEATHER INLAND INTO
MONDAY WHILE A SHALLOW MARINE LAYER KEEPS COASTAL AREAS COOLER WITH
HIGHER HUMIDITY. THE HIGH WILL BEGIN TO WEAKEN ON MONDAY AS A WEAK
DISTURBANCE MOVES INLAND. THIS WILL CAUSE THE ONSHORE FLOW TO
INCREASE, AND LOWER HUMIDITY AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS AND INTO THE
DESERTS. BEFORE THE MARINE LAYER DEEPENS APPRECIABLY, THE HOT AND
DRY CONDITIONS INLAND, COUPLED WITH THE INCREASING WESTERLY WINDS,
WILL CREATE PERIODS OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FROM THE
MOUNTAIN CRESTS ONTO THE DESERT SLOPES, AND LOCALLY INTO THE
DESERTS MONDAY AND TUESDAY. WINDS WILL BE STRONGEST LATE AFTERNOON
AND EVENINGS MONDAY AND TUESDAY, AND MAY CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY
NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING. CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE BY WEDNESDAY AS
WINDS SUBSIDE AND HUMIDITY INCREASES.

...DISCUSSION FROM PHXFWFPSR...

INCREASING WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT TO THE SOUTH OF A SERIES OF PACIFIC
STORM SYSTEMS MOVING INLAND ACROSS THE NORTHERN GREAT BASIN IS
EXPECTED TO PUSH DRIER AND SLIGHTLY COOLER AIR INTO THE REGION
DURING THE EARLY/MIDDLE PART OF THE UPCOMING WORKWEEK, WITH THE
THREAT OF CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY BEING PUSHED WELL OFF TO THE EAST,
INTO NEW MEXICO/WEST TEXAS. THE COMBINATION OF VERY DRY AIR AND
GUSTY WINDS IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE FIRE DANGER LEVELS ACROSS SE
CA ON MONDAY.
