.DISCUSSION...A cold arctic airmass will be moving in during the
day on Tuesday. By Wednesday morning, cold air will likely be
firmly in place throughout the Bitterroot Valley. Any east-west canyon
winds in your drainage of interest will likely only move smoke
laterally on Wednesday, as vertical mixing will be nearly non-
existent. Around 9000 feet, at the crest of the Bitterroot Mtns,
there will be light west winds, but it is unlikely these will mix
down into the stable valley.
