THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON ALONG
THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS AND EDWARDS PLATEAU THIS AFTERNOON. MINIMUM
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES OF 20 TO 30 PERCENT AND SOUTHERLY WINDS OF 10
TO 15 MPH WILL HELP INCREASE THE RISK FOR BRUSH AND GRASS FIRES
TO SPREAD QUICKLY IF THEY OCCUR.

IN ADDITION TO THE FIRE WEATHER THREAT...ELEVATED HEAT INDICES
BETWEEN 105 AND 108 ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON ALONG AND EAST OF
INTERSTATE 35. A FEW SPOTS IN THE COASTAL PLAINS MAY BRIEFLY SEE
HEAT INDEX VALUES APPROACHING 110 FOR AN HOUR OR TWO DURING THE
MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU STAY HYDRATED AND
TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS DURING STRENUOUS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

ONE MORE DAY OF ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS IS EXPECTED ON
MONDAY AFTERNOON ALONG THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS AND EDWARDS PLATEAU.
HOWEVER...A PAIR OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES FROM THE EAST WILL
BRING WETTER AND SLIGHTLY COOLER WEATHER TO SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
SPREADING FROM EAST TO WEST ON MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL TOTALS OF UP TO 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ON MONDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY. RELATIVELY DRY SOILS AND PROGRESSIVE
STORMS SHOULD KEEP FLASH FLOOD CONCERNS TO A MINIMUM...BUT AREAS
THAT RECEIVE MULTIPLE PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN OR HAVE SLOW-MOVING
STORMS MAY EXPERIENCE SOME FLOODING. DRIER WEATHER SHOULD RETURN
BY FRIDAY...WITH FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS RETURNING IN THE RIO
GRANDE PLAINS IF THEY DO NOT RECEIVE ADEQUATE WETTING RAINS.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT ANTICIPATED.
