431 AM CDT MON SEP 1 2014 /531 AM EDT MON SEP 1 2014/

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

   THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE...
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL LEADING TO FLASH FLOODING.
WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
HAIL TO GREATER THAN ONE INCH IN DIAMETER.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

SCATTERED STORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING. REDEVELOPMENT OF
SCATTERED STORMS IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON. AREAS SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80 LOOK TO HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR GREATER COVERAGE OF
STORMS THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT...WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE THE
BETTER ABILITY FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND SEVERE WEATHER.

  DISCUSSION:

SCATTERED STORMS THIS MORNING ARE POSSIBLE WHICH WILL BE MOVING
NORTHEAST ACROSS THE AREA. THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WITH THESE
APPEAR MINIMAL...HOWEVER LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND ISOLATED
STRONG WINDS...POSSIBLY UP TO NEAR 60 MPH...ARE PROBABLE WITH
ANY STORMS. REDEVELOPMENT OF SCATTERED STORMS IS EXPECTED THIS
AFTERNOON. STRENGTHENING WINDS ALOFT IN THE ATMOSPHERE COULD
PRESENT SCATTERED SEVERE STORMS...CAPABLE OF STRONG WINDS AND
HAIL. REGENERATING STORMS MOST CAPABLE OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
AND POSSIBLE FLASH FLOODING WILL BE MOST FAVORED SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80...ESPECIALLY THE AREAS THAT SAW VERY HEAVY
  RAINFALL THIS PAST SATURDAY NIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

THERE IS A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS EARLY TUESDAY FOR AREAS SOUTH
OF A PONTIAC TO RENSSELAER LINE.

ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL OCCUR LATER IN THE
WEEK...MAINLY ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND AGAIN FRIDAY.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTERS MAY BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
