SOUTHERLY SWELL GENERATED BY HURRICANE MARIE WILL CONTINUE TO
IMPACT THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL WATERS THROUGH THE END OF THE WORK
WEEK. SWELL IS FORECAST TO PEAK TODAY INTO THURSDAY MORNING AT 6
TO 8 FEET WITH SWELL PERIODS AS HIGH AS 17 SECONDS. SWELL
DIRECTION WILL BE SOUTH TO SOUTH-SOUTHEAST TODAY WHICH WILL KEEP
MUCH OF THE LARGEST SWELL MORE THAN 20 NM OFFSHORE. AS THE SWELL
DIRECTION BECOMES MORE SOUTHERLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON...IMPACTS ARE
EXPECTED CLOSER TO SHORE HOWEVER SWELL HEIGHT WILL ALSO HAVE EASED
TO 4 TO 6 FEET. SOUTHWEST SWELL AROUND 3 FEET MOVES INTO THE
COASTAL WATERS OVER THE WEEKEND.

MARINERS AND FISHERMEN SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR STRONGER THAN
TYPICAL CURRENTS THROUGH THE WEEK ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE PLANNING
ON DIVING OR ENTERING THE WATER.
