...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST TODAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN POCATELLO HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST TODAY.

* VISIBILITY...SUDDEN DECREASES IN VISIBILITY FROM A MILE OR MORE
TO NEAR ZERO IS POSSIBLE IN THE SNAKE RIVER PLAIN AND THE UPPER
SNAKE RIVER HIGHLANDS BELOW 6500 FEET ELEVATION.

* IMPACTS...NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY DEVELOPING SUDDENLY CAN MAKE
DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS. YOU MUST DRIVE
SLOW ENOUGH TO GIVE YOURSELF REACTION TIME. DO NOT DRIVE FASTER
THAN YOUR HEADLIGHTS AND REFLEXES ALLOW. WITH TEMPERATURES BELOW
FREEZING...DENSE FOG CAN DEPOSIT A THIN SLICK LAYER OF
ICE...COMMONLY CALLED BLACK ICE...ON THE ROADWAY. THIS INCREASES
THE HAZARD BY MAKING YOUR MOTOR VEHICLE SLOW TO RESPOND TO
  BRAKING ACTION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE
REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. IF DRIVING...SLOW DOWN...
USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS...AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU.
