...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 8 AM PDT
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a High Wind
Warning for the eastern Sierra slopes, which is in effect from
midnight tonight to 8 AM PDT Friday.

* TIMING...Downslope winds will develop overnight and end Friday
  morning as a cold front passes.

* WINDS...West winds gusting as high as 70 to 80 mph, particularly
  at the mouths of canyons.

* IMPACTS...Travel in and near the foothills will become
  difficult. Outdoor activities could become dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Strong winds can make driving dangerous...rapidly
reduce visibility in dust prone areas and lead to property
damage.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 8 AM PDT
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind
Advisory for the Owens Valley, which is in effect from midnight
tonight to 8 AM PDT Friday.

* TIMING...Localized downslope winds will develop overnight and
  end Friday morning as a cold front passes.

* WINDS...Localized west winds gusting 40 to 50 mph, particularly
  east of the mouths of canyons in the Sierra.

* IMPACTS...Sudden crosswinds could make travel hazardous on
  Highway 395, especially for high profile vehicles. Visibility
  may also be reduced in streamers of blowing dust.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means strong winds gusting over 40 mph can make
driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 8 PM PDT FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind
Advisory for northwest San Bernardino County, which is in effect
from 8 AM to 8 PM PDT Friday.

* TIMING...Winds will increase Friday morning, peak in the
  afternoon, and decrease after sunset.

* WINDS...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong crosswinds could make travel hazardous on north
  south roads, including Interstate 15. Visibility could also be
  reduced in areas of blowing dust, particularly near the Mojave
  River.

A Wind Advisory means strong winds gusting over 40 mph can make
