...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THREAT THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING
ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE BRUSH COUNTRY AND FAR INLAND COASTAL
PLAINS...

THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY SOUTHEAST WINDS...DECREASING RELATIVE
HUMIDITY VALUES AND DRY FUELS WILL RESULT IN ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS OVER THE EASTERN BRUSH COUNTRY AND EXTREME WESTERN
COASTAL PLAINS OF SOUTH TEXAS.

SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TODAY TO 15 TO 20
MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL DECREASE
TO BETWEEN 30 AND 40 PERCENT WITH A FEW LOCATIONS BRIEFLY
EXPERIENCING CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS. CONDITIONS WILL
IMPROVE THIS EVENING AS RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES INCREASE.

RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO EXERCISE CARE WITH RESPECT TO ALL OUTDOOR
ACTIVITIES THAT COULD INADVERTENTLY CAUSE WILDFIRES. AVOID THE USE
OF WELDING OR GRINDING EQUIPMENT NEAR WEEDS...GRASS AND DRY BRUSH.
IN ADDITION...AVOID PARKING VEHICLES IN TALL...DRY GRASS AND WEEDS
THAT COULD BE IGNITED. DO NOT TOSS CIGARETTE BUTTS ON THE GROUND.
REPORT WILDFIRES QUICKLY TO THE NEAREST FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICE.
