...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS OVER THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS AND
PORTIONS OF THE WESTERN BRUSH COUNTRY...

WESTERLY WINDS WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON ALLOWING
TEMPERATURES TO CLIMB INTO THE MID TO UPPER-80S AND REDUCE
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES INTO THE TEENS. 20 FOOT WINDS OF 15 TO
20 MPH MAY BECOME GUSTY THIS AFTERNOON AND WHEN COMBINED WITH
CURED FUELS, ELEVATED FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE TODAY.
THESE ELEVATED CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR OVER THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS
AND PORTIONS OF THE WESTERN BRUSH COUNTRY.

AFFECTED RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO EXERCISE CARE WITH RESPECT TO ALL
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THAT COULD INADVERTENTLY CAUSE WILDFIRES. AVOID
THE USE OF WELDING OR GRINDING EQUIPMENT NEAR WEEDS...GRASS AND
DRY BRUSH. IN ADDITION...AVOID PARKING VEHICLES IN TALL...DRY
GRASS AND WEEDS THAT COULD BE IGNITED. DO NOT TOSS CIGARETTE BUTTS
ON THE GROUND. REPORT WILDFIRES QUICKLY TO THE NEAREST FIRE
DEPARTMENT OR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICE.
