...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTH COAST
OF PUERTO RICO FROM 8AM AST TO 6 PM AST...

RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BRIEFLY DROP BELOW 45 PERCENT TODAY
ALONG THE SOUTH COASTS AND FOOTHILLS OF PUERTO RICO. WINDS WILL
ALSO RANGE FROM 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 35 MPH
POSSIBLE.

THE 10 HOUR FUEL MOISTURE HAS DECREASED AND IS NOW AS LOW AS 9 IN
SOME AREAS. KBDI VALUES HAVE INCREASED DURING THE LAST 48 HOURS,
INDICATING AN INCREASING FIRE DANGER WITH CAMP SANTIAGO NOW
REPORTING 700 OUT OF 800. NO PRECIPITATION WAS OBSERVED IN THE
AREA DURING THE LAST 48 HOURS AND NONE IS EXPECTED TODAY FOR MOST
OF THE SOUTH COAST.

FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND
SPREAD OF WILD FIRES.

FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE APPROACHING, BUT NOT MEETING OR EXCEEDING, RED FLAG WARNING
CRITERIA.
