...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED TODAY ACROSS PORTIONS
OF SOUTHERN PUERTO RICO...VIEQUES AND ST CROIX...

VERY DRY AIR WILL SPREAD OVER THE LOCAL REGION TODAY. RELATIVE
HUMIDITY WILL DROP QUICKLY LATE THIS MORNING ACROSS MOST OF THE
REGION...ESPECIALLY OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN PUERTO RICO...
VIEQUES AND ST CROIX. WINDS WILL LIKELY REACH 15 TO 20 MPH...WITH
HIGHER GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL FALL TO 45-50
PERCENT ACROSS MOST OF ST. CROIX...VIEQUES AND THE SOUTHERN COASTAL
PLAINS OF PUERTO RICO.

FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND
SPREAD OF WILDFIRES.

FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
