ZONES 013 AND 014...

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM MST /noon CST/ this morning
to 6 PM MST /7 PM CST/ this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Affected Area...In Kansas...
   Fire Weather Zone 013 Sherman
   Fire Weather Zone 014 Thomas

* Period of Concern...This afternoon.

* Temperatures...Upper 60s to lower 70s.

* Relative Humidity...15 percent.

* Winds...Southwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts...Any fires that start may exhibit extreme behavior and
  rapidly spread out of control.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged today. Consider canceling
or postponing outdoor burning plans.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are imminent. Strong southwest winds, low relative humidity
values, and above normal temperatures will create an environment
in which extreme fire behavior can be expected.
