URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
546 PM PST Sun Dec 10 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA
COUNTIES THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

.DISCUSSION...An extended period of Santa Ana offshore winds will
continue through Monday focused over much of Los Angeles and
Ventura Counties. East winds with gusts 30 to 40 mph are expected
late tonight into Monday, however, winds are expected to be
weaker overall on Monday. Meanwhile, minimum humidities of 3 to 10
percent will be common through at least the middle of this coming
week, with widespread poor overnight recoveries...mostly staying
under 30 percent. As a result, critical Red Flag conditions will
persist over most of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties through
Monday with a chance for locally critical conditions continuing
into Tuesday, especially in the valleys and mountains.

The Santa Barbara County Mountains will maintain elevated
fire weather conditions due to continued very dry conditions with
very poor overnight recoveries. There is a chance of additional
plume growth on Monday.

Widespread critical fire weather conditions are ending this
evening, but elevated conditions are expected to persist due to
continued very low humidites, along with weakening offshore
winds.
