DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY

Showers and thunderstorms were scattered across the area during the
past 24 hours. Rainfall amounts varied but generally averaged around
one quarter inch. An upper level low will produce more showers and
thunderstorms over the next 24 hours. The heaviest rainfall will be
across the piedmont...southern Virginia and northern North Carolina
where amounts between one half inch to one inch are possible. Amounts
between one quarter to one half inch are possible across the Virginia
northern neck and eastern shore. The runoff from this rainfall will
result in rises to near three quarters bankful across the James
and Appomattox Rivers and possible to near bankfull across portions
of the Chowan and Cashie river basins.
