HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT

For the Manistee River...The following locations are included:
Sherman.

Northern Michigan rivers are generally running high...thanks to
a considerable amount of rain over the past week. Yesterday...
locally heavy rain fell on parts of the Manistee River system...
in particular just north and northeast of Manton. Runoff from
that rainfall is now moving downstream thorugh Sherman.

As of 7 pm...the river had risen to 14.6 feet. Flood stage is
15 feet. The river is forecast to crest just below flood stage
early tonight.

People with interests along the Manistee River near Sherman
should carefully monitor river levels tonight. Consider moving
vulnerable items to higher ground.

The National Weather Service in Gaylord will closely monitor river
levels...and will issue additional statements or warnings as
conditions warrant.
