HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BILLINGS MT
450 PM MST SAT DEC 6 2014

WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO MELT SNOW AND INCREASE FLOWS
ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS WATER WILL
PUSH ICE DOWNSTREAM AND THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS FOR ICE JAM
FORMATION FOR AREAS EAST OF BILLINGS. ANY ICE JAMS MAY CAUSE
LOCALIZED LOW LAND FLOODING ALONG AREA WATERWAYS. THOSE WITH
INTERESTS ALONG AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR ICE
JAM FORMATION. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO MOVE EQUIPMENT AND LIVESTOCK
AWAY FROM LOW LYING AREAS ADJACENT TO STREAMS AND RIVERS AT THIS
TIME. IF ANY ICE JAM FLOODING IS NOTED...PLEASE CONTACT LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT AND HAVE THEM RELAY REPORTS TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.
